LifeandPauli - Sumatra

Sumatra | LifeandPauli

Deep within the rainforests of Sumatra, this project was created as part of a social-awareness collaboration with @lifeandpauli to support The Jungle Guide, an Indonesian ecotourism organization dedicated to conservation and responsible travel. The aim was to raise awareness around sustainable tourism and the environmental and social impact of the palm oil industry — translating complex realities into a visual narrative that resonates emotionally.

Filmed over a six-day jungle expedition and a following three-day documentation on a palm oil plantation, the production followed real conditions: humidity, heavy rain, dense terrain, and the constant unpredictability of the environment. Working with a small local team, Lukas carried all equipment independently and shaped the story directly from the intensity of the experience.

Two main videos were produced for Instagram, combining emotional storytelling with strong visual pacing. Documentary information and contextual insights were shared through complementary story formats, while the core pieces focused on mood, connection, and the urgency behind the subject.

Lukas handled the entire creative and technical execution — from cinematography to editing, sound design, and color grading — while aligning the narrative direction closely with @lifeandpauli’s audience and communication style.
