Sometime Never - Mongolia
Sometime Never - Mongolia
Mongolia | Sometime Never
Journey into the vast expanse of Mongolia, a land where open horizons and ancient culture shape the rhythm of everyday life. Commissioned by the private member collective Sometime Never, this eight-day cinematic travel production captures both the authentic experiences of the group’s travelers and the sweeping visual beauty of one of Asia’s most remote regions. Developed in close collaboration with filmmaker Jyoti Jackovickis, the film merges documentary observation with crafted cinematic expression.
From windswept steppes and dramatic mountain passes to intimate encounters with local communities, each scene reflects the spontaneity and unpredictability of real travel. Together, Lukas and Jyoti shared camera responsibilities throughout the journey, blending classic cinematography with FPV drone work to reveal the scale and movement of the landscape. In post-production, Lukas led the edit and completed the full color grade, shaping the footage into a cohesive atmospheric narrative.
With its textured imagery and immersive pacing, Mongolia – Sometime Never transforms an unfiltered expedition into a cinematic experience — a portrait of culture, wilderness, and the transient moments that define the road.
Welcome to Mongolia – a journey drawn in light, dust, and open sky.
